About the position

The Finance Director at Kairos Power will lead the development and execution of financial strategies to support the company's growth and operational goals. This role involves detailed financial planning, capital management, and providing business-wide financial leadership. The Finance Director will collaborate with senior management and various departments to drive operational efficiency and financial performance, manage the company's cash position, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and lead innovation within the finance department.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with functional leaders and the Senior Director of Finance to define and execute the finance roadmap.
• Lead financial planning and analysis, including targets, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
• Research and secure financial incentives at federal, state, and local levels.
• Manage the company's cash position and provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management.
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for investors and stakeholders.
• Support fundraising initiatives, including capital markets activities and equity raises.
• Oversee financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage financial aspects of large capital projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Oversee development and administration of cost share contracts.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and prepare reports for regulatory bodies.
• Spearhead enhancement of financial systems and automate financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent.
• 10 years or greater of experience in finance or related field.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of corporate financial operations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the nuclear energy sector.
• Familiarity with financial regulations related to NRC, DOE, and FERC requirements.
