The Director of Finance at New York University (NYU) will play a pivotal role in directing financial planning and analysis, as well as overseeing fiscal operations at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. This position is responsible for developing and implementing both short-term and long-term strategic plans that align with Wagner's objectives in finance and operations. The Director will be tasked with creating financial models and systems that facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning and allocation, all aimed at optimizing fiscal and operational effectiveness within the school. In addition to strategic planning, the Director will monitor the School's actual financial performance, consolidating, synthesizing, and summarizing variances to provide clear insights into financial health. Establishing and maintaining internal financial procedures, policies, and standards is crucial to ensure adherence to NYU's overarching policies and procedures, particularly in compliance and risk management. The Director will also oversee a team that includes an administrator and student staff, ensuring that all financial functions are supported effectively. Furthermore, the Director will facilitate the use of NYU's new Concur Travel and Expense system and Ibuy, ensuring that appropriate procurement standards are followed. This role requires a strong leader who can navigate the complexities of financial management within an academic institution, while also fostering a collaborative environment that supports the school's mission and goals.
