About the position

The Director of Financial Services and Accounts Receivable at Central Texas College is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of Financial Services, which includes managing Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid Disbursements, and the Business Office. This role requires a strong background in accounting and financial services, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective management of multiple offices.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the overall operation of Financial Services, including Accounts Receivable and Financial Aid Disbursements.
  • Manage the Business Office operations.
  • Supervise and train employees, organizing and prioritizing major initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state financial regulations.
  • Research complex issues and provide solutions using independent judgment.
  • Implement new guidelines and continuously review and improve policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution, or an Associate's Degree with seven years of relevant experience.
  • Five years of experience in the management of Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and/or Financial Services with a Bachelor's Degree, or seven years with an Associate's Degree.
  • Knowledge of college and university financial services procedures and regulations.
  • Strong research skills related to State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word-processing software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in student receivables at a college or university.
  • Experience with an automated accounts receivable database system such as Colleague.
