About the position

The Director of Operations for Glass and Calibration at AutoNation is responsible for leading and overseeing field operations related to the installation, repair, and calibration of automotive glass and advanced vehicle safety systems. This role involves strategic leadership, operational management, and the execution of growth initiatives to enhance efficiency, profitability, and service quality within a dynamic automotive service startup.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team focused on automotive glass and calibration operations.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance management to ensure high service delivery and technician development.
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture that drives continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement new service locations aligned with company growth objectives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute expansion strategies.
• Monitor performance at new and existing locations to optimize productivity and profitability.
• Oversee all aspects of field operations, ensuring timely and accurate installation and calibration of automotive glass.
• Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of job sites to ensure service quality and safety adherence.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with sales and business development teams to identify customer needs.
• Stay updated on industry developments and ensure team training in the latest technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex issues.
• Develop and manage the budget for field operations, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
• Analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent in Operations Management or Automotive Glass industry.
• 10+ years of leadership or operational management experience in the Glass industry.
• Proven track record of managing multi-unit locations with revenues exceeding $10M.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in operational planning, resource management, and process optimization.
• Financial acumen and experience managing P&L, budgets, and operational performance metrics.
• Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
