About the position

The Washington Post is seeking a Director of Global Acquisition Marketing to spearhead its global subscriber acquisition initiatives. This role involves leading a team focused on digital marketing strategies, optimizing growth, and driving substantial increases in the subscriber base. The Director will collaborate with various departments to align marketing efforts with business objectives, manage budgets, and utilize data-driven insights to inform strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies to enhance brand awareness and drive global subscriber acquisition.
  • Manage acquisition forecasts and achieve set budgets for registrations, starts, terminations, and revenue.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to develop a robust testing roadmap for optimizing acquisition growth.
  • Direct the management of biddable media campaigns and ad accounts across multiple platforms.
  • Refine A/B testing strategies to optimize messaging, channel selection, and offer personalization.
  • Partner with Product teams on enhancing registration products and global pricing initiatives.
  • Oversee marketing processes, timelines, and creative development for campaigns.
  • Execute strategic acquisitions informed by analysis to exceed performance metrics.
  • Lead the launch of digital marketing campaigns across various channels in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a team of 8+ performance marketing managers and specialists.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or 8+ years of hands-on experience in performance marketing.
  • Deep understanding of B2C/DTC marketing channels and funnels, with at least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Experience in promoting products within a recurring revenue or subscription business model.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, leading, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative capabilities for data-driven decision-making.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with strategic focus.
  • Entrepreneurial and mission-driven mindset.
