About the position

The Director, Global Construction Controller at Micron Technology is a senior finance leadership role responsible for managing multi-billion dollar annual capital expenditures related to global construction projects. This position partners with the Vice President of Global Facilities and Construction to ensure that investments align with Micron's growth strategy, optimize capital allocation, and drive process efficiency across the organization. The role requires collaboration with various finance departments and global teams to enhance financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Drive for best-in-class construction and facility cost by understanding competitive benchmarks, establishing internal objectives, and driving accountability throughout the organization
  • Improve capital allocation to achieve greater value for the company
  • Collaborate with the global construction and facilities team and global procurement team to identify areas to optimize construction spending through industry analysis and should-cost modeling
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Micron accounting policies and practices, and other relevant rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with finance and operations collaborators to develop and implement new systems and processes to improve efficiency and meet changing business needs
  • Develop highly effective working relationships with other leaders and teams inside and outside the global Finance organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • Additional professional qualifications (CPA, CFA, CMA) preferred
  • Expertise with managing and overseeing the financial aspects of construction spend for global manufacturing sites
  • At least 15 years of work experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Controlling or related fields in the manufacturing industry (electronics manufacturing, semiconductors or other high-tech industries preferred)
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience, ideally in globally dispersed teams
