About the position

The position involves leading the overall scientific strategy development and execution for the Pneumococcal Vaccines Franchise. This includes spearheading the annual scientific strategy planning, development, and execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role requires the development and oversight of scientific leader engagement and communication strategies for both adult and pediatric spaces. The successful candidate will need to lead without authority, driving collaboration with various teams to ensure alignment with the overall product strategy and messaging. Building and maintaining strong relationships with scientific leaders is crucial, ensuring that all engagement activities comply with regulatory, legal, and ethical standards. Additionally, the role includes being the commercial lead in driving the engaging presence of the Pneumococcal Vaccines Franchise brands at congresses. This involves identifying strategic congresses for global support, aligning team activities, and engaging with scientific leaders. The candidate will provide guidance in the creation and dissemination of scientific and educational content tailored to scientific leaders, including presentations and training materials. Furthermore, the position supports strategic planning to define market opportunities and market positioning for future pneumococcal vaccine development, working closely with cross-functional and cross-divisional colleagues. The candidate will also oversee data generation requests and activities in collaboration with Outcomes Research and Epidemiology team members, which may include cost-effectiveness modeling, budget impact modeling, and burden of disease analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall Scientific Strategy development and execution for Pneumococcal Vaccines Franchise.
  • Lead annual scientific strategy planning, development, and execution for the Pneumococcal Vaccines Franchise in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of Scientific Leader engagement and communication strategies for Pneumococcal Vaccines Franchise in both adult and pediatric spaces.
  • Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the overall product strategy and messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Scientific Leaders; ensure all engagement activities comply with regulatory, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Commercial lead in driving engaging presence of Pneumococcal Vaccines Franchise brands at Congresses; identify strategic congresses for Global support, including key regional congresses, aligning team activities, and scientific leader engagements.
  • Provide guidance in the creation and dissemination of scientific and educational content tailored to Scientific Leaders, including presentations and training materials.
  • Support strategic planning to define market opportunity and market positioning for future pneumococcal vaccine development, working closely with cross-functional and cross-divisional colleagues.
  • Oversee data generation requests and activities in close collaboration with Outcomes Research and Epi team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree (PhD, MBA, PharmD) preferred.
  • 7 years of progressive experience across marketing or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Scientific Strategy and Scientific Leader engagement plans.
  • Strong scientific acumen with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Acumen for understanding key market dynamics and seizing business opportunities.
  • Proven track record of high-performance launches and driving business results.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and create clear long-term customer-centric strategies.
  • Strong collaboration skills, both within commercial teams and cross-divisional teams including R&D, medical affairs, Outcomes Research, and Access.
