About the position

The Director of Global Marketing at Team Wendy is a pivotal role that requires collaboration with cross-functional and external partners to deliver a strong and consistent brand experience. This position is responsible for raising awareness among key audiences and fostering creativity to generate enthusiasm for the brand. The ideal candidate will identify innovative ways to leverage the brand, establishing intimacy and engendering loyalty among consumers. The Director will manage and direct the marketing and customer care departments, working closely with senior leadership to develop and implement growth strategies in both North America and international markets. In this role, the Director will provide senior leadership to the marketing, graphics, and event teams, ensuring that all members understand the objectives and are aligned with the company’s goals. The position supports growth in both B2B and B2C channels for Team Wendy products, prioritizing efforts to deliver impactful results tied to annual budgets. The Director will develop and articulate differentiated value propositions, compelling benefits, and customer outcomes, positioning Team Wendy products and services effectively in the marketplace. The Director will serve as an expert in the market, focusing on Military, Special Operations, First Responders, and Outdoor Sport Enthusiasts. This includes understanding prospect personas, market trends, opportunities, and challenges. The role involves overseeing the development of marketing and advertising communication projects, managing approved marketing budgets, and leading go-to-market efforts for new product launches. Additionally, the Director will build customer marketing expertise by generating case studies, testimonials, and other customer-driven marketing assets, while also providing leadership to the Customer Care team to ensure a best-in-class experience. Collaboration with product category management and engineering is essential to understand the roadmap and proactively plan for new product releases. The Director will also build sales enablement tools and support sales training efforts to educate the team on the Avon Protection story and go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership to the marketing, graphics, and event teams to ensure all members understand the objectives.
  • Support growth in B2B and B2C channels for Team Wendy products, prioritizing efforts to deliver impactful results tied to annual budgets.
  • Develop, own, and articulate differentiated value propositions, compelling benefits, customer outcomes, and the positioning of Team Wendy products and services in the marketplace.
  • Serve as the expert in our market and customers for Military, Special Operations, First Responders, and Outdoor Sport Enthusiasts, including our prospect personas, market trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Oversee the development of marketing & advertising communication projects including websites, sales tools, marketing collateral, and content development, aligned with corporate communications.
  • Oversee control for approved marketing budgets and strategic product launches.
  • Understand our competition at a granular level and how to position our products & solutions based on our differentiators.
  • Conduct competitive and market research, develop ideal customer profiles, and conduct win/loss analysis.
  • Lead go-to-market efforts for new product launches and marketing programs, including developing positioning, messaging, value propositions, and integrated marketing plans.
  • Build our customer marketing expertise by turning customers into advocates - generating case studies, testimonials, customer videos, and other customer-driven marketing and sales assets.
  • Provide leadership to the Customer Care team, developing strategies that ensure Team Wendy experience is viewed as a best-in-class.
  • Collaborate with product category management & engineering to understand the roadmap, new feature/offer plans, and proactively plan for new product releases.
  • Build sales enablement tools such as battlecards, pitch decks, one-pagers, etc., and support sales training efforts to educate them on the Avon Protection story and our go-to-market strategy.

Requirements

  • BS/BA level degree in Marketing, Public Relations; MBA preferred.
  • 10 or more years within related product marketing management experience.
  • Proven marketing leadership with the Defense and First Responder areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to build customer and industry relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a variety of global sales cultures.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication/presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in a variety of data collection and survey techniques.
  • A demonstrated capability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Strong foundation in data-driven problem solving.
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth in business acumen across major functional disciplines including Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Contracts, and Sales.
  • Ability to travel within North America and Internationally.
