About the position

The Director, Global Portfolio Communications, Oncology at Amgen is responsible for shaping the global communications strategy for the Oncology therapeutic area. This role supports the Global Commercial Organization in developing product communications strategies for product launches and lifecycle management. The position requires collaboration across various teams and involves both domestic and international travel to key events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of global communications plans for Amgen's Oncology therapeutic area.
  • Interact cross-functionally with Integrated Brand Teams (IBTs) to provide input on ongoing strategy.
  • Develop communications toolkits, trainings, and template materials for local affiliates.
  • Support key countries in activating priority initiatives and pulling through global strategy.
  • Drive global insights gathering activities related to communications, including media advisory board meetings and social media audits.
  • Collaborate with the US Oncology Portfolio Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and approach.
  • Partner with the Global Patient Advocacy team on disease state education and enhancing the patient experience.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Corporate Communications, Advocacy or Marketing experience, or
  • Masters degree and 7 years of Corporate Communications, Advocacy or Marketing experience, or
  • Bachelors degree and 9 years of Corporate Communications, Advocacy or Marketing experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Corporate Affairs related positions in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience working in international regions and supporting local affiliates worldwide.
  • Experience launching medicines, including outside of the US.
  • 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams.
