About the position

The Director of Global Talent Management at Owens & Minor is a strategic leadership role focused on enhancing the talent management organization to drive company growth and improve the experiences of patients, providers, and communities. This position involves creating and executing innovative talent management strategies, fostering internal mobility, and developing leadership capabilities across the organization. The director will work closely with various stakeholders to align talent practices with business goals and ensure a culture of accountability and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a forward-thinking talent management strategy focused on teammate and leader growth, performance differentiation, and strong engagement.
  • Provide consultation to business and HR stakeholders on talent management topics, leveraging external trends and benchmark data.
  • Develop tools and processes that encourage internal mobility and enable teammates to reach their potential.
  • Enhance the succession planning process and identify opportunities for evolving leadership assessment.
  • Partner with HRBPs and non-HR leaders to assess leadership potential and create development plans for key talent.
  • Align global talent practices with the Owens & Minor leadership framework to foster accountability and growth.
  • Utilize people data and analytics to assess talent strategy effectiveness and track key performance indicators.
  • Maximize talent investment by identifying critical roles and connecting them with critical talent.
  • Develop communications that shift culture and mindset, outlining necessary behaviors for success.
  • Identify skills and capabilities needed to achieve business goals and build a strategic workforce plan.
  • Develop and deploy a listening strategy to enhance the teammate experience and create a culture of belonging.
  • Cultivate a focus on performance differentiation and enable meaningful conversations for goal achievement.
  • Enable high-performing teams by assessing future needs and preparing the organization for growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resource experience leading talent management strategy and execution.
  • Proven ability to connect talent strategy with business strategy to drive performance.
  • Deep passion for forward-thinking talent strategies and execution across global locations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated results in building scalable and sustainable processes and resources.
  • Strong change leadership capability with a focus on risk management and stakeholder support.
  • Owner mentality with a focus on problem-solving and driving results.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution for desired outcomes.
  • Exceptional executive presence and consultative business partnering skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
