About the position

As the Director of Grants Accounting at Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a dedicated team responsible for a variety of accounting-related activities. This includes ensuring robust internal fiscal controls, accurate fiscal reporting, effective debt management, cash management, and overseeing investments. You will also be tasked with tax administration and grant management, ensuring that all financial activities comply with governmental regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of the financial operations within the organization, which is committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services to the community. In this full-time position, you will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere oversight; you will be actively involved in the development of annual budgets in collaboration with the executive team, focusing on revenue models, staffing patterns, and expenses. You will also ensure that your team meets performance targets within specified timeframes, fostering a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality staff. This role requires a commitment to maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory standards, ensuring that the organization maintains its licensure, certification, and accreditation. Responsibilities

  • Completes supervisee's performance evaluations, training plans and supervision records
  • Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a staff of top-quality people
  • Interview/hire/train new site personnel and ensure that supervisory staff are equipped to participate in the interview and selection process
  • Provide oversight of performance targets within specified timeframes
  • In correlation with executive team, develop annual budgets with focus on revenue models, staffing patterns, and expenses
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards maintaining licensure, certification, and accreditation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance management, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting
  • Strong knowledge of governmental regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experience in budget development and financial forecasting
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with grant management and reporting
