About the position

The Director, Healthcare Workforce Development at Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) will lead initiatives aimed at addressing healthcare workforce challenges in New York State's Adirondack North Country region. This role focuses on promoting healthcare careers, creating a pipeline of healthcare workers, and providing support to underemployed and unemployed individuals to help them gain employment in high-demand healthcare occupations. The Director will oversee program administration, development, management, and implementation, ensuring compliance with grant outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AHI's Healthcare Workforce Development initiative.
  • Convene AHI leadership and external community collaborators for strategic planning.
  • Identify healthcare employers' needs and participant barriers to success.
  • Establish and fulfill program goals, objectives, and reporting deadlines.
  • Develop policies and procedures for participant eligibility and disbursement of services.
  • Create a data collection system to manage and report project progress.
  • Manage and guide collaborators and sub-recipients to align with project goals.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment, coordinating with local educational and community organizations.
  • Document and communicate program progress and challenges to stakeholders.
  • Manage the budget and ensure compliance with funder regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by grant terms.
  • Stay current on healthcare training program policies and requirements.
  • Work on programmatic design and community partnerships for sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in workforce development or understanding of healthcare workforce strategies.
  • Three or more years of grant management experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare trends and occupations.
  • Experience working with underrepresented, rural, and economically disadvantaged groups.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
