About the position

The Director, Helium Sourcing & International Sales, is a pivotal role responsible for securing new supply sources and managing relationships with wholesale export customers and Nippon Sanso affiliate customers. This position requires a strategic approach to sourcing helium, which includes the discovery, evaluation, approval, and execution of deals with various suppliers. The director will establish and maintain relationships with global energy companies and crude helium producers, ensuring a steady supply of helium for the company's needs. In addition to sourcing, the director will oversee the P&L management of relationships with Global Helium's wholesale export customers, focusing on maximizing profitability and pursuing new wholesale customers. This includes contract negotiation and drafting, as well as managing existing contracts and relationships with Nippon Sanso affiliate customers. The role also involves providing input into the development of Global Helium's business strategy, particularly concerning prospective new sources and wholesale export business. The director will support MTG/TNSC affiliates in implementing the Global Helium strategy and will be involved in special projects related to Global Helium's P&L, annual plan modeling, helium-related capital investment, and analysis. Coordination of the annual sales forecast and helium budget development is also a key responsibility. The director will perform other duties as assigned and must comply with all company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the process to secure new helium sources including discovery, evaluation, approval & deal execution.
  • Establish & maintain relationships with global energy companies, crude helium producers & other potential helium sources.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts.
  • Develop business cases and obtain internal approvals.
  • Lead the internal evaluation process, coordinating with legal, tax, supply chain, and other departments to ensure completion and approval of agreements.
  • Oversee P&L and overall management responsibility for relationships with Global Helium's wholesale export customers.
  • Maximize profitability of wholesale customers.
  • Pursue new wholesale customers and manage contracts with Nippon Sanso affiliate customers.
  • Provide input to the development of Global Helium's business strategy and implement it with respect to prospective new sources and wholesale export business.
  • Support MTG/TNSC affiliates in implementing the Global Helium strategy.
  • Coordinate the development of the annual sales forecast and helium budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering is required.
  • 7-9 years of experience in industrial gases (or similar) sales or commercial management, including management of complex contracts is required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in negotiation of complex sales or sourcing agreements is required.
  • 1-3 years of international experience and exposure to different cultures is preferred.
  • Prior management experience in the industrial gases industry is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to negotiate complex agreements and build customer rapport is essential.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills are necessary.
  • Understanding of financial project evaluation methodologies is required.
  • Ability to multi-task is essential.
  • Multicultural awareness is preferred.
