About The Position
The Director of Health Information Management (HIM) and Information Security is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of health information services and information security functions within a small, rural community hospital. This role involves collaboration with management, providers, staff, and patients to optimize processes related to document imaging, chart analysis, document storage, and the release of information. The Director ensures compliance with federal and state laws, including HIPAA and HITECH, while providing strategic advice on information security needs and risks, and working closely with the Chief Information Officer and HIPAA Privacy Officer to operationalize security measures and maintain regulatory standards.
