About the position

The role of the Director, HR Business Partner at Iron Mountain is a pivotal connection point between HR and senior leadership within various Business Units and Functions. This position is primarily focused on aligning HR strategies with the overarching business goals of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess an inquisitive and innovative mindset, with a deep understanding of the goals, challenges, and market dynamics of Iron Mountain. This understanding is essential to ensure that HR initiatives effectively enhance performance, productivity, and, most importantly, employee engagement. The Director will work closely with senior leaders to provide strategic advice on talent management and organizational development, ensuring that HR practices are in sync with business needs. In this role, the Director will collaborate with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and HR Advisors to communicate business priorities and upcoming initiatives, enabling the OneHR team to service the business effectively and efficiently. The Director will exemplify effective change leadership, utilizing data and analytics to guide and influence appropriate HR interventions within Business Units. This position is central to shaping the agenda for people management, driving business outcomes, and sustaining Iron Mountain's competitive advantage. A deep understanding of the business and the HR model is crucial for successful collaboration with CoEs, HR Service Delivery, and Advisors to ensure that strategies are executed effectively to drive business results.

Responsibilities

  • Advises Business Unit/Function Leader and direct report team with Tier 3 consultative requests to effectively utilize talent for achieving business objectives.
  • Provides strategic level HR consultation to leaders and their teams, developing an account plan with CoEs and HR Service Delivery to meet strategic and operational priorities.
  • Acts as a Talent Consultant on core talent management processes including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Collaborates with Talent Management CoE and Talent Acquisition to match business needs with individual development goals, engaging in talent lifecycle planning.
  • Provides advice on enhancing business performance through organization structure, capability, engagement, and productivity.
  • Champions change initiatives and contributes to the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies for programs and projects within the business unit.
  • Fosters knowledge sharing among HRBP colleagues and collaborates with HR colleagues as part of the Account Management team.

Requirements

  • Must have worked in an HR environment with shared services and COE structure.
  • Experience influencing an organization's business model, strategy, goals, and challenges.
  • Proven analytical skills to assess HR metrics, trends, and data for decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
  • Strong financial acumen to drive business outcomes with customer groups on their talent agenda.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Experience in organizational development, change management, and succession planning.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives and their leadership teams.
  • Experience in coaching leaders to achieve better business outcomes.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders to gain buy-in for HR initiatives.
  • Experience fostering a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
