About the position

As the HR Director supporting the Digital Health function at Alcon, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital initiatives. This position requires a strategic mindset and a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with leaders across the globe to enhance our digital impact and set ambitious goals for the enterprise. Your responsibilities will include developing foundational services for customer-facing digital products, particularly in our Fort Worth, Texas location. A typical day will involve meticulous project management techniques to define the digital operating model and build out capabilities and ways of working for Alcon's Digital Organization. In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor to senior management on all people-related matters, partnering with various business leaders to create and implement HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational development, and employee engagement. Your efforts will be crucial in standing up and delivering on Alcon's Digital Organization objectives. You will leverage HR department functions and capabilities through ongoing discussions and collaboration with HR colleagues to drive and influence the Digital Organization effectively. You will directly support the Global Head of Digital Health as the single point of contact, actively engaging with internationally based business leaders to collaboratively identify opportunities for HR program and practice improvement. Mentoring global business leaders and managers on HR and people management practices will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will maintain a current understanding of the organization's financial and quality indicators, scanning the broader business environment for trends and issues that may affect talent management. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you analyze a broad range of HR data to identify valid insights and convert these insights into actionable recommendations for the business. You will provide business leaders and managers with an HR perspective on business decisions, utilizing your solid knowledge of all HR functions and leveraging insights into the Digital world. Coordinating with HR department function subject matter authorities, you will deliver on business requests and solve business problems, implementing HR-related programs within the Digital Organization. Partnering with assigned client groups will ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives, allowing you to proactively resolve HR and business issues through organizational efficiency and the employee life cycle.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • 10 years of relevant experience in HR, particularly in an international business environment.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English.
  • Detailed knowledge of human resource management practices and employment-related legislation.

  • Experience within the Digital and Technology space, particularly in commercializing digital products.
  • Experience with defining new operating models and building new capabilities.
