About the position

48forty Solutions is the largest pallet management services company in North America, providing end-to-end pallet solutions, from supply to retrieval, on-site services, reverse logistics, and packaging materials. The Director, HR Systems is a pivotal role responsible for supporting the formulation, design, implementation, and management of a holistic digital strategy for our Human Resource systems. This position requires a balance of technical, functional, and strategic competencies, along with strong project management and delivery skills. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, ensuring the health, accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our HR systems. In this role, the Director will manage day-to-day operations and execution of HRIS-driven business processes and operations. They will lead a small team of HRIS professionals responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of HRIS and other integrated HR applications. The Director will provide guidance and coaching to support professional development and team success, mentoring team members and setting individual and team goals. The Director will act as a partner with HR leadership to understand business needs and align HRIS functionality with key HR initiatives. They will develop and execute an HRIS roadmap and strategies to meet team and organizational goals, ensuring the development and implementation of a comprehensive governance framework for HR systems. This includes policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity, integration health, security, compliance, and effective system updates. The Director will collaborate with HR and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for system optimization, process improvement, and automation within HRIS, enhancing system functionality, user experience, and reporting capabilities. Additionally, the Director will manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality service delivery, support HR leadership with the management of the overall HR systems budget, and provide project and change management support for complex projects. They will also implement training and support to end-users to maximize HRIS adoption and proficiency, utilizing HRIS reporting tools and analytics to generate insights and track key performance indicators (KPIs).

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and execution of HRIS driven business processes and operations.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainable governance framework for our HR systems, including policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity, integration health, security, compliance, and effective system updates.
  • Align HRIS initiatives with broader HR and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with HR and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for system optimization, process improvement, and automation within HRIS.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance system functionality, user experience, and reporting capabilities.
  • Provide insight on new or enhanced HRIS functionality to improve productivity and workflow.
  • Ensure integration integrity management and oversight.
  • Partner with HRIS support vendor, and other HR systems vendors to optimize system performance, resolve issues, and implement best practices.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Support HR leadership with the management of overall HR systems budget and develop long-term vendor management strategy for HRIS delivery.
  • Provide project and change management support and communications for complex projects.
  • Oversee and enhance change management strategies, processes and execution to support system upgrades, enhancements, and change control.
  • Implement training and support to end-users to maximize HRIS adoption and proficiency.
  • Utilize HRIS reporting tools and analytics to generate insights, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide actionable recommendations to HR and business leaders.
  • Drive the development and maturity of regular reports and dashboards into analytics to support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 10 years or more of broad Human Resources experience including General HR, Recruiting, and/or Compensation/Benefits.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HRIS Leadership/Supervision.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects efficiently, reporting to multiple levels of an organization, and setting proactive/strategic goals for team.
  • SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.
