About the position

The Director, HR Technology Strategy at NRG will play a crucial role in enhancing the Human Resources department by developing and implementing technology strategies that promote data-driven decision-making, streamline HR processes, and improve the overall employee experience. This position requires collaboration with senior leadership and IT teams to identify and leverage new technologies, particularly in machine learning and AI, to optimize HR service delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Talent & Culture's short and long-term technology strategy.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to identify areas for efficiency, productivity, or quality improvements.
  • Act as a technology thought-leader in HR, leveraging new technologies to enhance service delivery.
  • Research and identify new technologies to improve organizational efficiency and customer service.
  • Optimize technology resources and recommend future technology directions and initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of data-based decision-making within HR.
  • Identify, design, and support the implementation of process improvements in HR technology.
  • Evaluate existing business technology resources and recommend upgrades or new technologies.
  • Ensure HR's data architecture supports evolving business needs.
  • Work with HR Centers of Excellence to evaluate operational dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Identify metrics and performance indicators and collect relevant data.
  • Build collaboration with the IT Data and AI team to align HR technology strategy with company strategy.
  • Coach and develop direct reports, providing opportunities for development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of corporate experience, including prior management experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of well-rounded HR experience supporting different areas of the HR function.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with business process improvement strategies.
  • Experience with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on data and processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline preferred.
  • Master's degree a plus.
