The Director of Human Resources - Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain is a pivotal role that reports to the Head of Global Field Human Resources. This position is responsible for directing the strategy on people-related matters impacting the business within Global Manufacturing (U.S., Brazil, and Thailand) and Supply Chain. This role is hybrid, allowing flexibility to work from home, but the incumbent must be based in or near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the expectation of being on-site on short notice. In this role, you will collaborate with the executive team, peer HR Directors, and other HR Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, HR Shared Services, Labor Relations, etc.) to deploy initiatives in rewards, labor/employee relations, and talent management. The Director of Human Resources provides guidance to a team of Human Resources Managers & Business Partners who consult with business leaders and line managers on people-related matters impacting their business. Success in this role requires the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the HR team and at all levels of the organization. You must have experience leading through ambiguity and partnering with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating creativity while being data-focused, and being unafraid to push boundaries to take calculated risks.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner with the HR and Executive leadership team to ensure alignment of people-related matters with the company's strategic goals.
  • Advise and counsel leaders and employees on people-related matters, implementing and executing HR programs and processes.
  • Lead talent and organizational design projects across multiple geographies to support engagement, retention, and development.
  • Work with embedded HR Managers and Professionals to align and integrate HR capabilities with business unit objectives.
  • Identify emerging human capital challenges and trends within the supported business units and sponsor efforts to create improvement opportunities.
  • Support organizational effectiveness through proper alignment of people, processes, structure, and culture with business strategies.
  • Translate strategy into solutions, actions, and results, assessing the impact of business decisions on the workforce.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with at least 5 years of management experience.
  • Experience leading global people-related matters for a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience with a union workforce is strongly preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with a big picture perspective on Human Resources.
  • Proven people leadership experience with a track record of engaging, developing, and retaining a team.
  • Technical expertise in handling employee relations issues, arbitration, and grievances.
  • General management perspective and business acumen, including financial and strategic capability.
  • Excellent judgment and sensitivity for dealing with internal and external issues.
  • Ability to interact in fluid and ambiguous situations and sensitivity to stakeholder needs.
  • Catalyst for change with problem-solving and innovative transformation skills.
  • Ability to take reasoned risks and effectively present and sell ideas.
  • Leadership style that builds alliances and emphasizes integrity, high morale, and effective teamwork.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills, writing skills, negotiating skills, and executive demeanor.
