About the position

The Director, Human Resource Operations at GreatAmerica Financial Services is a leadership role responsible for overseeing core HR functional processes. This position collaborates with leaders and stakeholders to enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and compliance. Key responsibilities include managing performance, total rewards, HR technology strategy, and compliance activities, while serving as a trusted resource for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the HR Leadership Team to enable organizational success.
  • Optimize daily workflow and HR processes to meet evolving business needs.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to ensure smooth execution and risk management of HR processes.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are current and compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Set and monitor HR budget and ROI of activities.
  • Oversee compliance/reporting requirements and ensure timely filing.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for total reward offerings.
  • Implement HR controls to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance.
  • Use data-driven insights to assess HR effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Research and implement technologies to improve HR service effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain HR Capability Dashboard to review progress and efficiency indicators.
  • Assist Payroll Team with payroll needs and coordination.
  • Partner with Compliance Team to ensure HR compliance activities are followed.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop HR team members to deliver high-quality services.
  • Support ongoing workspace planning needs in collaboration with facilities and operations.
  • Develop and deploy an HR Technology Strategy for a scaling organization.
  • Coach leaders on organizational and leadership issues.
  • Oversee employee relations matters to ensure fair application of policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (or equivalent).
  • At least five years of experience in payroll, benefits, technology, and compliance operations, with at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance matters.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Workday experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a multi-state HR environment.
