About the position

The Director of Human Resources at LG Chem America Advanced Materials, Inc. is a leadership role responsible for overseeing HR functions at the Clarksville, TN facility. This position involves developing and implementing HR policies and programs to enhance employee engagement and performance, shaping organizational culture, and managing all HR activities at the site. The Director will report to both the HR America regional director and the manufacturing leader vice president, ensuring compliance with employment laws and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure HR department compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, practices, activities, and procedures.
  • Implement and build human resources strategies including talent acquisition, staffing, employee relations, and compensation.
  • Provide strategic direction to the HR team including recruiting, training and development, employee relations, and payroll.
  • Collaborate with BSG HR leader to build effective labor relations strategies.
  • Oversee workforce planning based on HQ direction and local staffing needs.
  • Deploy HQ initiatives to the site in collaboration with BSG HR.
  • Develop human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Implement compensation practices to ensure talent acquisition, retention, and competitive pay levels.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective communication and employee support programs.
  • Evaluate leadership performance and appraisal processes.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience as an HRBP or Human Resources Manager in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience leading the Human Resources function for a manufacturing facility is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (SuccessFactors, ADP).
  • Prior experience leading a team of HR professionals in various HR functional areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advance degree in relevant area of HR/law or industrial relations and/or SPHR Certification is highly preferred.
  • Excellent creative ability to improve workplace culture in a multicultural company.
