About the position

The Director of Commercial Systems and Tools at Ahold Delhaize USA is responsible for leading a team that partners with business leaders to optimize and enhance the portfolio of merchandising tools. This role involves providing strategic insights, managing system implementations, and ensuring effective change management to support the company's commercial system capabilities. The position requires a deep understanding of technology and business operations to drive efficiency and growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team that supports business leaders across ADUSA to optimize and enhance the existing portfolio of commercial systems and tools.
  • Partner with Commercial Strategy to drive alignment across the enterprise on new potential tools and capabilities.
  • Lead a team that provides business and technical expertise to prioritize and deliver a suite of merchandising tools.
  • Drive clarity in the emerging pipeline of new system requests/enhancements for prioritization and optimization.
  • Establish forums to collaborate on key updates on programs/projects and share progress details.
  • Utilize commercial business leaders to bring awareness and solve large roadblocks.
  • Document the product/project roadmap across all merchandising projects.
  • Manage and write compelling UAT test scripts while defining business owners for testing.
  • Engage with system/tool providers to understand challenges and vendors' roadmap/service strategy.
  • Lead the team to deliver the commercial system and tools transformational roadmap ensuring business goals are achieved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in technology leadership roles, focusing on commercial systems and business tools.
  • Deep understanding of technology, business operations, and strategic planning.
  • Technical acumen to drive clear business requirements.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing technology solutions that drive business value.
  • 4+ years' experience leading teams with the ability to inspire and mentor team members.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Project management expertise to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving business needs.

  • Master's degree preferred.
