About the position

The Director of ICU at Palo Pinto General Hospital is responsible for leading and managing the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) department. This role involves assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care, while also managing financial resources and promoting teamwork among healthcare professionals. The Director will monitor quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care for the ICU department.
  • Establish, implement, and manage financial resources for the ICU.
  • Promote teamwork with physicians and other healthcare personnel.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality improvement initiatives for the ICU.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Professional Nursing School.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Two years of experience as an RN in Intensive Care Nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability in nursing practice.
  • Leadership and management abilities with effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of principles of Quality Improvement.
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or PCCN certification preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
