About the position

The Director II - Field Operations Finance serves as the key finance business partner for the Senior Vice President of North America Institutional Field Sales. This role is pivotal in leading field compensation, sales reporting and analytics, sales budgeting, and providing executive decision support aimed at driving profitable growth. The position is responsible for designing and implementing key performance metrics that accelerate sales growth and maximize operating income. Additionally, the Director will collaborate closely with Human Resources to design and execute incentive compensation plans. A significant aspect of this role involves formulating strategic initiatives, establishing clear objectives, selecting and planning investments, allocating resources effectively, and enhancing the productivity of the North America Field Sales organization in partnership with the sales leadership team. The North America Field Compensation Center of Excellence (COE) also reports directly to this position, emphasizing the importance of this role in the overall financial strategy of the organization. The Director II will manage a team of approximately 20 Finance and Finance Systems resources, providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development to ensure that the team achieves business results and prepares for future responsibilities. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, as the Director will report, analyze, and summarize sales and operational performance results, including variance and trend analysis, risk and opportunity assessments, and the identification and follow-up of corrective actions to drive fact-based business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Report, analyze, and summarize sales and operational performance results including variance and trend analysis, risks and opportunity assessment, identification and follow up of corrective actions, and driving fact-based business decision-making
  • Develop sound business processes and create strong control environment around field compensation
  • Present financial information to sales leadership to drive alignment of financial goals, including training of sales associates on financial reports as needed
  • Support the Strategic Business Review, Annual Sales Plan process, and monthly sales forecasting. Ensure delivery of insights needed to finalize annual action plans, investments, and targets
  • Develop ad hoc analysis to supplement standard reporting to identify business opportunities or diagnose business challenges
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development to division finance associates to achieve business results and prepare associates for future responsibilities

Requirements

  • 15+ years total experience with relevant experience in FP&A and/or Sales Finance
  • Four-year college degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Demonstrated leadership success in driving organizations to superior levels of performance, including attracting, retaining and developing high potential talent
