About the position

The Director II, Technology Architecture is responsible for defining and leading the infrastructure and technology architecture strategy and governance across Ahold Delhaize USA. This role involves managing a broad scope, directly engaging with senior leadership, and guiding large-scale architecture decisions across both infrastructure and technology. The position provides leadership for enterprise architecture, IT strategy, solution delivery, and risk management, ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of technology architects to deliver Reference Architectures and Decision Frameworks for IT infrastructure and strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create technology strategies, roadmaps, and standards that align with company goals.
• Translate complex business needs into IT solutions that meet industry standards and compliance.
• Make architecture decisions and guide system design involving servers, cloud, storage, networking, and security.
• Continuously improve current architecture, including modernization and system consolidation.
• Lead major enterprise architecture initiatives from planning to execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) preferred.
• 13+ years of relevant working experience, with 5+ years leading teams.
• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture strategy, leadership, and governance.
• Ability to influence and lead organization-wide architecture strategy and decisions.
• High-level strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Post graduate degree or advanced training in relevant fields.
• 5+ years' experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.
• Experience in retail or grocery sectors.
• Knowledge of DevOps processes and Infrastructure as code fundamentals.
• Consultancy skills.
