About the position

The position is within Gilead's Sales Analytics & Operations group, specifically in the Incentive Compensation department. It focuses on leading and executing all sales incentive compensation activities for multiple therapeutic sales teams. The role involves managing complex projects, ensuring team development, and maintaining accountability for incentive compensation deliverables across various products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects of significant complexity requiring cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee all aspects of incentive compensation for two unique field/sales teams across three different products.
  • Own the end-to-end incentive compensation process including plan design, goal setting, administration, reporting, communication, and governance.
  • Deliver thought leadership and subject matter expertise to stakeholders, instilling best practices in incentive compensation.
  • Design incentive compensation plan options reflecting brand strategy and market dynamics.
  • Guide stakeholders in selecting the best incentive compensation options through analysis and presentations.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with Sales & Marketing leadership to support company objectives through incentive compensation programs.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability for incentive compensation and field reporting by liaising with Data Strategy & Governance, Sales Analytics, and Sales Operations.
  • Align strategy and messaging with Sales Leadership and Senior Leadership Team for consistency in incentive compensation programs.
  • Monitor incentive compensation performance and identify areas for improvement through health checks and benchmarking against competitors.
  • Support Finance with timely and accurate accruals for incentive compensation expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience OR Master's Degree and Ten Years' Experience OR Ph.D. and Seven Years' Experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in business administration, economics, finance or related fields.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in sales compensation, sales/marketing analysis, statistical analysis, and financial forecasting, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and storytelling with data.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize insights from various sources to guide business decisions.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior management experience with accountability for all aspects of Performance Management.
  • Experience in Rare Disease therapeutic area with establishing incentive compensation plans and designs.
  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare related experience working on Incentive Compensation.
  • Familiarity with limited or unique Pharma commercial data sets.
