About the position

The Director of Inside Sales at WEX Inc. is a leadership role responsible for managing the North American Mobility inside sales team. This position focuses on driving sales growth, expanding the customer base, and maximizing revenue through strategic planning and execution. The director will spend a significant portion of their time on inside sales responsibilities while also developing the future sales strategy for the Mobility sector, particularly through the integration of AI tools and optimizing organizational structures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the inside sales team to achieve sales targets and objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with prospective customers.
  • Provide sales training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and take corrective action as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, risk, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Lead sales transformation initiatives to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Design and implement organizational structures and processes to optimize sales performance and efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on sales performance, forecasts, and other key metrics.
  • Drive the sales AI strategy for all Mobility Sales Channels.
  • Identify key use cases for enhancing the sales process with AI-supported tools.
  • Determine the overall business value for AI within sales.
  • Optimize Mobility Org Design for Future State.
  • Review current org against best practice models for multi-product sales capability.
  • Determine future state for Sales org to best support WEX's future GTM.
  • Assess current GTM team structure, skills, and performance.
  • Refine future sales operating model, team structure, incentives, and tooling to ensure organizational readiness for multi-product future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex projects or programs that span several business areas and include multiple sub-projects.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex market and customer data.
  • Demonstrated success in the effective motivation, management and deployment of supervisors and associates.
  • Superior performance management skills, including coaching, feedback and individual professional development to enhance sales performance and customer experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in successful deployment and utilization of Telephony platforms/tools to coordinate allocation of sales resources for optimal capacity, potential for growth and implementation of business strategies.
  • Ability to lead and work alongside cross-functional teams, especially Sales and IT/Product.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
