About the position

The Director of Internal Communications for Engineering will lead a small team of communications professionals to develop and deliver effective internal communications that engage employees and support business outcomes. This role requires a collaborative individual who can navigate complex communication challenges and provide tailored solutions to various divisions within the Engineering function. The Director will be responsible for creating a modern, data-driven communication strategy that inspires and motivates a global workforce, ensuring that all communications are aligned with the company's objectives and values. The Director will report to the Head of Internal Communications and will play a critical role in shaping the internal communications program. This includes advising on best practices, managing resources, and ensuring that communications are audience-focused and effective. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in internal communications, with the ability to simplify complex information and engage diverse audiences. They will also be responsible for fostering a high-performance team culture, supporting team members' development, and promoting a strong risk culture within the organization. In this role, the Director will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their priorities and develop a streamlined approach to internal communications. They will leverage digital channels and tools to create impactful content and continuously improve communication strategies based on data and insights. The Director will also collaborate with other leaders in the organization to identify opportunities for improvement and drive consistency in messaging across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a small squad of internal communications professionals to build and deliver critical communications that support business outcomes.
  • Delivering activities aligned with the global internal communications strategy and embedding the one-company story.
  • Acting as the primary contact for internal communications advice and support for the head of Engineering.
  • Collaborating with leaders to understand priorities and develop a streamlined annual internal communications approach.
  • Managing demand and resource planning to prioritize activities that will have the most significant impact on performance.
  • Partnering with the CAM planning team to manage and govern communication activities effectively.
  • Working with change and transformation teams to ensure consistent messaging in change-related communications.
  • Utilizing tools and technologies to create audience-focused, well-planned, and effective communications.
  • Identifying and prioritizing internal communications improvement opportunities in collaboration with other leaders.
  • Measuring the impact and success of internal communications activities with a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting a high-performance team culture through effective performance management and coaching.
  • Modeling LSEG values of integrity, partnership, excellence, and change in all communications.

  • Proven experience in internal communications, particularly in a global context.
