About the position

As the Director of International Business Development at Trex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's long-term international strategies across various geographies. This position is not just about managing sales; it is about innovating and driving growth in international markets. You will be expected to lead the charge in developing business strategies that identify focus markets and optimal go-to-market strategies, including the selection of suitable distribution partners and marketing approaches. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture that prioritizes safety and a people-first mentality, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company's core values. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by managing all aspects of business development. This includes preparing detailed sales plans and forecasts tailored to each market, effectively managing existing and potential customers, and identifying opportunities within various sales channels such as DIY retailers and pro-channel outlets. You will also lead and mentor international-based employees, providing cross-functional management of North American-based support resources to ensure seamless operations. Customer advocacy will be a key component of your responsibilities, as you will act as a liaison between the business and various departments, including customer service, marketing, and logistics, to guarantee exceptional service to international customers. Additionally, you will develop and execute international promotional strategies, ensuring that market tactics are tailored to local requirements while maintaining consistency with the Trex brand. Budget management will also fall under your purview, as you will be tasked with developing and managing international SG&A budgets to support projected growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in international sales.
  • Previous experience as an International Sales Director.
