About the position

The Director of Investment Advisory is responsible for leading an engagement team focused on financial crimes risk management, particularly in the areas of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT). This role involves managing client relationships, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The director will also provide training and guidance to team members, oversee project deliverables, and identify new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead an engagement team in various assessments and enhancements related to financial crimes risk management.
  • Lead discussions with clients, partners, or regulators, providing insightful solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage team tasks related to key deliverables including AML/CFT Program evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Ensure completion of tasks and that the team meets productivity and quality assurance standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to improve necessary skills for client engagements.
  • Conduct professional feedback sessions with team members.
  • Solve complex problems and consult with stakeholders appropriately.
  • Manage engagements within budget and meet deadlines.
  • Meet utilization targets and collaborate with colleagues and leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for potential client work and develop client relationships.
  • Serve as the AML subject matter expert in collaboration with the sales department.
  • Provide expertise in AML risk assessments during business development and advise on compliance strategies.
  • Assist the sales team in closing business by ensuring due diligence and offering expert recommendations.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or international equivalent.
  • ACAMS Certification (highly preferred).
  • 7-10 years of related AML experience; 3-5 years of managerial experience.
  • Business development and client services experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong writing skills for clear and concise reports and communication with management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (pivot tables, charts, PowerPoint, etc.).

Benefits

  • Minimum Salary: $120,000
  • Maximum Salary: $150,000
