About the position

The Director of IT Operations is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of the IT infrastructure and operations portfolio, particularly in a GxP environment. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of the IT operational staff, providing technical direction, and delivering technology solutions to end users. The Director will manage daily operational activities, oversee hardware and communication infrastructure, and ensure integration with corporate systems while maintaining data integrity and GMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver work plans for IT operations.
• Provide technical direction to IT operations staff.
• Deliver technology solutions to end users.
• Collaborate with decision-makers in IT Automation and manufacturing departments.
• Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support efficient technology solutions.
• Ensure operational management under established standards and processes set by Corporate IT.
• Integrate local resources with global teams for various IT services.
• Provide oversight to vendors and staff augmentation providers.
• Engage with IT management to develop and implement technologies supporting operational goals.
• Define and implement IT policies, procedures, and standard processes.
• Develop operational goals and systems specifications.
• Provide technical mentorship and develop solutions as per project needs.
• Ensure training of staff on operational procedures.
• Build schedules, work plans, and product cost guidelines.
• Lead IT department planning, including innovation and resource allocation.
• Deliver deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of IT infrastructure.
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and recommend improvements for IT infrastructure and systems.
• Implement and manage IAAM solutions for secure access to systems and data.
• Implement observability practices and tools for comprehensive monitoring of IT systems.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in an FDA or similarly regulated environment for Director level.
• Management and delivery experience, including managing a diverse technical team.
• Experience leading vendors and designing/deploying SLAs and metrics.
• Successfully implemented ITIL practices into an organization.
• Expertise in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.
• Knowledgeable in implementing Identity and Access Management solutions.
• Experience with observability tools and practices, including monitoring, logging, and tracing of IT systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
