About the position

The IT PMO Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the IT department. This position involves managing larger programs, ensuring effective communication, and aligning project initiatives with the overall IT strategy. The role requires collaboration with internal IT teams and business partners to ensure project execution and alignment with business objectives, while also identifying potential project challenges and proposing remediation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee larger programs and manage multiple projects and work streams.
  • Consolidate projects into a comprehensive plan for reporting, monitoring, and communication.
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise related to infrastructure, technical architecture, and application architecture.
  • Understand IT financials, budgeting for capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX).
  • Collaborate effectively with internal IT teams and business partners to ensure project cadence and execution.
  • Identify potential project challenges, assess risks, and propose remediation action plans.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience within IT.
  • 3+ years of prior PMO experience.
  • Extensive experience in IT project management, program management, and PMO leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, technical architecture, and application architecture.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
