About the position
The Director of IT at Telular Corporation is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure of the business, leading the IT department, and ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of systems in a WAN/LAN and cloud environment. This role involves overseeing network security, data center management, and IT operations, while also managing a team of IT professionals to support the organization's technology needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily activities and operations of the IT department in a WAN/LAN and cloud environment.
- Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and efficient.
- Oversee network security and manage cybersecurity infrastructure.
- Manage the planning, design, and implementation of network infrastructure modifications.
- Establish and implement network security protocols and compliance measures.
- Oversee troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery processes.
- Act as primary Level 3 technical support for the Engineering group.
- Manage the development of the company's internal and external websites.
- Maintain security badge systems and facility access rights.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships for IT supplies and services.
- Initiate and implement improvements in IT processes and technology solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or Network Related Certifications.
- 10 years of network management and computer systems experience, with at least 5 years in a hands-on leadership/management role.
- Strong technical knowledge of network and systems administration, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and enterprise software.
- Experience in managing cybersecurity infrastructure and IT support for a technology business.
- Proven problem-solving skills with strong project and process management abilities.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with cloud-based data center infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with managing routers and switches.
