About the position
The Director of Lab Finance & Business Operations at Stanford Health Care is responsible for leading and managing the financial and business operations of the Laboratory department. This role involves overseeing the annual budget, managing Reference Lab billing operations, and ensuring financial controls while partnering with key stakeholders to drive operational performance and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the financial and business operations for the Lab department.
- Oversee annual budget preparation and adherence to operating budget during the fiscal year.
- Manage lab capital (non-threshold) and assist in business operations functions.
- Analyze operations, cost, and productivity to assess variations or trends for improvements across all Lab sites.
- Meet with executive, medical, and senior leadership to provide strategic support for the Lab.
- Oversee Reference Lab business operations with external clients, including contracting and billing functions.
- Prepare and review operational data and KPIs for business and clinical operations.
- Provide content expertise in SHC business operations, finance, procurement, and accounting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop long-range business plans and strategies.
- Ability to provide leadership and influence others.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to functional responsibilities.
- Knowledge of strategic planning and program design principles.
- Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and data analysis.
