About the position

The Program Management/PMO position within Fixed Income is a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing program activities across multiple regions, including the US, Ireland, and Japan. This position is situated within one of the largest Fixed Income Investment Management firms globally, which manages assets for a diverse clientele, including institutional, retail, and affiliated clients. The firm has a strong presence with headquarters in New Jersey and additional offices in major financial hubs such as London, Ireland, Tokyo, and Singapore. In this role, the Program Manager will lead large-scale IT initiatives within the systems team on a global scale. This includes consulting with senior management to analyze and execute business plans effectively. The Program Manager will be instrumental in driving change within the Information Systems (IS) department to enhance workflows and overall effectiveness. A key aspect of the role involves partnering with IT vendors to influence product roadmaps, ensuring that the firm maintains a competitive advantage by leveraging best practices and emerging trends in technology. The Program Manager will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with various business partners, vendors, and professional organizations. A significant focus will be on leading efforts to adopt SCRUM and Agile methodologies across the IS department globally, supporting staff in problem-solving, and integrating new processes and technologies to bolster business operations. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a well-controlled and resilient technology environment, which includes identifying and managing IT risks in alignment with company policies and IT governance standards. The position also entails generating IT PMO metrics that are crucial for managing and reporting on projects, budgets, expenditures, and the effectiveness of IT delivery. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership qualities and strong partnering skills, with a proven track record in program and project management within the Fixed Income Asset Management sector.

Responsibilities

  • Leading large scale IT initiatives within the systems team globally

  • Maintain relationships with other business partners, vendors and professional organizations
  • Lead efforts to adopt SCRUM, Agile methods and tools across the IS department globally
  • Support staff in solving problems and incorporating new processes and technology to support the business
  • Maintain a well-controlled and resilient technology environment, including the identification and management of IT risks in coordination with company policies and IT governance standards
  • Generation of IT PMO metrics used to manage and report on projects, budget, spend and IT delivery effectiveness
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and partnering skills

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience as a Program/Project Manager in Fixed Income Asset Management application delivery
  • 5+ years' experience managing large scale ($5mm+ budget), cross business unit programs of IT work
  • 3+ years' experience in SCRUM/ Agile teams
  • Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree or CFA a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing an application development team
  • In depth knowledge and experience with Fixed Income instruments, including derivatives, foreign exchange, MBS, structured securities and syndicated bank loans
  • Strong diagnostic, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience generating IT PMO reporting and metrics for an executive audience
  • Proven project management and change management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior management on strategic initiatives and on-going business support
  • Excellent organization, communication, collaboration and time management skills

Nice-to-haves
