About the position

The Director of Licensure & Certification at ScionHealth is responsible for overseeing the company's licensure and certification functions, ensuring timely completion of Medicare and Medicaid enrollments, re-enrollments, and revalidations. This role involves managing legal and risk management services related to licensure and certification, exercising independent decision-making, and continuously improving processes and projects in this area. The position requires collaboration with outside counsel and internal teams to coordinate legal services and manage administrative functions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Company's licensure and certification function.
  • Ensure timely completion of Medicare and Medicaid enrollments, re-enrollments, and revalidations.
  • Respond to day-to-day legal/risk management services needs relating to licensure and certification.
  • Establish and implement consistent processes and procedures for licensure management across the organization.
  • Monitor trends in operational aspects to develop processes and training for efficiency and compliance.
  • Monitor changes in federal and state laws affecting licenses and report on these changes.
  • Participate in asset acquisitions and divestitures, assisting with onboarding and due diligence materials.
  • Lead and contribute to team projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or paralegal degree from an accredited school.
  • 10 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal setting or related field.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to healthcare facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, including healthcare licensing and Medicare/Medicaid enrollment.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex legal materials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
