About the position

The Director of Logistics at Disney is responsible for overseeing global logistics operations, including transportation, consolidation warehouses, and the implementation of organizational policies to ensure efficient product flow across various segments of The Walt Disney Company. This role focuses on optimizing costs and resources while maintaining high customer service standards, leading a senior management team across multiple regions, and managing a complex logistics network involving numerous shippers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead logistics operations teams to manage the transport of various commodities from production vendors to Disney warehouses.
  • Oversee the Oracle Transportation Management System (OTM) and execute system enhancements and user interface improvements.
  • Manage the logistics control tower, focusing on analytics, data science, and flow visibility.
  • Develop strategies and policies to optimize the logistics function and enhance customer service.
  • Drive supply chain optimization to improve revenue growth while minimizing logistics costs.
  • Manage the annual operating plan budgeting for freight and logistics services.
  • Optimize logistics network flow, including lane and hub selection processes.
  • Partner with supply chain sourcing for volume bidding and RFP content.
  • Maintain business/client relationships, focusing on volume, spend, and provider selection.
  • Monitor industry trends and innovations to enhance business continuity programs.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation policies and sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain/logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain/logistics management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performance teams.
  • Experience in analytics practices that drive results.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster collaboration.
  • Confidence and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to change and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to manage departmental financial aspects, including budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations and sustainability program execution.
  • Deep understanding of IT management and Oracle Transportation Systems (OTM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Tableau, and SQL.
