We are seeking a Director for the SDPE ML Group, a pivotal role within Coupang's Search and Discovery leadership team. This position will be responsible for shaping and executing the strategy for Coupang's eCommerce search experience. The Director will oversee tech projects related to search, recommendation, and catalog quality, driving initiatives that include query and intent understanding, the development of an e-commerce product knowledge graph, and the application of personalization techniques. Additionally, the role will explore innovative search experiences, such as Personal Assistants and multi-modal search, leveraging advancements in Generative AI and LLMs. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact the search experience for every customer on Coupang, making it a critical role in our organization. In this role, you will define the long-term strategy and vision for various technical directions, manage project plans, and ensure the successful delivery of commitments. You will lead your team in developing new machine learning models and features, applying rigorous testing methodologies to ensure their effectiveness. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the production systems that run these models, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by our customers.
