About the position

The Director of Mainframe Batch Operations is responsible for coordinating and delegating tasks among IT teams, overseeing daily operations, and managing ongoing projects. This role involves client onboarding, system maintenance, and procedural documentation, while also focusing on team development and performance reviews. The Director will enhance communication with clients and internal teams, manage project documentation, and ensure adherence to company goals and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and delegate responsibilities among assigned IT teams.
• Oversee day-to-day functions and project management.
• Onboard clients and manage installation and maintenance processes.
• Conduct training sessions for team members to enhance skills.
• Perform bi-yearly reviews and set quarterly and yearly goals.
• Enhance communication and collaboration with clients and teams.
• Administer and update project management documents weekly.
• Manage team's ticket queue and follow up on aging tickets.
• Provide risk assessment and management for projects.
• Review assignments for accuracy and quality.
• Delegate responsibilities as needed.
• Facilitate large project coordination and client/team meetings.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals.
• Participate in internal and external audits and onboarding of new clients.
• Optimize batch processing efficiencies and enhance system reliability.
• Implement Lean management principles.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge in batch management and mainframe console monitoring.
• Familiarity with system IPL processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
