About the position
The Director of Mainframe Batch Operations is responsible for coordinating and delegating tasks among IT teams, overseeing daily operations, and managing ongoing projects. This role involves onboarding clients, maintaining systems, and ensuring procedural documentation is up to date. The Director will also conduct training sessions, perform bi-yearly reviews, and set goals aligned with the business unit and company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and delegate responsibilities among assigned IT teams.
- Oversee day-to-day functions in alignment with Global Leader responsibilities.
- Manage onboarding of clients and installation processes.
- Maintain and update procedural documentation for areas of expertise.
- Conduct training sessions to equip resources with necessary skills.
- Perform bi-yearly reviews and set quarterly and yearly goals.
- Enhance communication and collaboration with clients and teams.
- Administer and update project management documents weekly.
- Manage team's ticket queue and follow up on aging tickets.
- Provide risk assessment and risk management for projects.
- Review assignments for accuracy and quality.
- Facilitate coordination of large projects and client/team meetings.
- Participate in internal and external audits and onboarding of new clients.
- Optimize batch processing efficiencies and enhance mainframe systems reliability.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge in batch management and Mainframe console monitoring.
- Familiarity with system IPL processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
