About the position

The Director of MRO Operations is responsible for the comprehensive management of our aircraft component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul operations, ensuring adherence to 14 CFR 145 repair shop regulations. In this crucial position, you will be at the helm of production, scheduling, logistics, inspection, and certification processes. Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as regulatory authorities across different organizational tiers, you will report directly to the Vice President of Maintenance, with a secondary reporting line to the Chief Operating Officer. This role presents a distinct opportunity to significantly contribute to our success and regulatory compliance efforts. In this role, you will oversee Maintenance Repair and Overhaul work conducted under 14 CFR 121 or 145 repair shop regulations. You will demonstrate operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and be accountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Company’s SMS Manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23. You will lead the development and implementation of improvement projects through cost/benefit analysis, utilizing methodologies such as Theory of Constraints, LEAN, and Six Sigma. Additionally, you will oversee and provide leadership to maintenance base personnel, coaching, developing, and engaging teams to create seamless operations that maximize productivity. Driving a proactive quality mindset and production process will be essential, as will implementing process flow using best practices across operations and supply chain utilizing ERP/MRP processes. This position will also involve providing leadership and development of staff on key areas such as operational demands, turnaround time (TAT), budget, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Prefer ten (10) years prior industry experience, ideally in MRO.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and engage a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence, and lead.
  • Practical experience with Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Ability to assist in marketing services to third parties.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with 14 CFR 145, repair shop regulations.
  • A&P License.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and mature a Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Logistics, and Quality experience preferred.
  • Certifications and demonstrated abilities for continuous improvement.
