About the position

J.McLaughlin is seeking a Director of Marketing Analytics to lead the management of customer data, CRM decision-making, and marketing performance analytics for the brand. This role is pivotal in driving the company's marketing strategy and will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. The Director will collaborate closely with various teams, including merchandising, ecommerce, product, and retail, to ensure a cohesive approach to marketing analytics. The position is based in the Greenpoint, Brooklyn offices and operates on a hybrid work model. The Director of Marketing Analytics will employ a test-and-learn methodology to build and measure customer cohorts, working alongside IT to identify the best technological solutions for data analysis. This role is responsible for reporting on marketing results, enhancing consumer retention strategies, optimizing marketing channels, and driving results through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for analytics, ensuring that all strategies align with the brand's core values and objectives. In this position, the Director will oversee the strategy and execution of customer data management, continuously seeking new opportunities to grow the business. They will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of customer data and profiles, ensuring that the data is as clean and actionable as possible. The Director will also mentor and manage junior team members, fostering their growth within the organization while collaborating with cross-functional partners to analytically solve problems and identify opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer data and CRM decision-making processes.
  • Oversee marketing performance analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, ecommerce, product, and retail teams.
  • Utilize a test-and-learn approach to build and measure customer cohorts.
  • Work with IT to identify and implement effective tech solutions for data analysis.
  • Report on marketing results and optimize channels for consumer retention.
  • Mentor and manage junior reports, fostering their professional growth.
  • Analyze results from clienteling lists to drive continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain dashboards that address business questions and measure success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Marketing, or a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, report building, and CRM maintenance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of marketing funnel data, benchmarks, and success metrics.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Expert SQL user, capable of writing and running complex queries.
  • Extensive experience in building Tableau dashboards and troubleshooting BI reporting.
  • Strong data visualization skills and ability to present complex information effectively.
  • Background in luxury retail and consumer brands.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Analytics and Aptos (or similar CRM tools).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve independently and collaboratively.
