The Director of Marketing and Communications plays a crucial role in driving MRIGlobal's growth, building brand equity, deepening customer insights, and attracting and retaining clients through effective marketing strategies and campaigns. This position is responsible for developing MRIGlobal's marketing strategies and plans that build brand awareness, generate and nurture leads, and support sales. The Director of Marketing and Communications leads a team of marketing professionals, 3rd party agencies, and vendors. The incumbent is accountable for all corporate marketing functions and processes to improve marketing effectiveness and grow the brand. This position reports to the President and CEO and is responsible for the organization's marketing functions. The position has a high degree of autonomy for marketing decisions. The Director of Marketing and Communications is expected to make a significant contribution to corporate and divisional planning by developing marketing strategies and plans that are informed by research trends, customer attitudes and motivations, and performance data. The incumbent collaborates actively with the Vice President of Research Operations, senior technical leadership, and Business Development staff to support their sales and marketing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, data-driven marketing plans and strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Create a tactical plan to execute strategies that support MRIGlobal's near-term and long-term financial objectives.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Track and report on the ROI of marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and activities comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Establish and maintain a strong brand presence in key markets.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across all marketing channels.
  • Oversee the creative services team to develop marketing collateral, proposals, internal branding, and advertising.
  • Oversee paid media strategy to generate awareness and leads through paid ads.
  • Create and manage marketing strategies and campaigns to generate leads and support Business Development efforts.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop materials and strategies that aid in client acquisition and retention.
  • Oversee the company's digital marketing efforts, including website management, SEO, email marketing, paid search, and social media.
  • Utilize data analytics to measure and optimize digital marketing performance.
  • Oversee PR functions to expand reach, deliver key messages, and enhance credibility.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key members of the media.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality content such as white papers, case studies, blog posts, social media content, and marketing collateral.
  • Approve the content calendar to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
  • Oversee planning and execution of MRIGlobal's participation in industry conferences, webinars, and other events to enhance visibility and networking opportunities.
  • Coordinate sponsorships and speaking opportunities to position the company as a thought leader in the industry.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing staff into a high-performing team to achieve department goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism, Advertising or General Management.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • A minimum of three years prior people management experience.
  • A minimum of three years direct experience managing a significant marketing budget.
