About the position

The Sacramento Kings are seeking a Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement to lead their marketing team. This role is pivotal in driving brand interest, enhancing fan engagement, and generating revenue through strategic collaboration with various internal departments and external partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing leadership, a passion for fan development, and the ability to translate business objectives into effective marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor three direct reports: Manager, Loyalty Marketing; Manager, Retail Marketing; and Marketing Specialist.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Marketing and two Director-level peers to set strategies and connect opportunities across the organization.
  • Liaise between internal department clients and the design team to translate business objectives into creative briefs.
  • Serve as a strategic partner with sales and activation teams to develop revenue-generating platforms and tactics.
  • Drive collaboration for themed games, fan giveaways, and experiences that enhance guest engagement.
  • Support internal content development and maintain brand consistency across digital channels.
  • Oversee marketing support for the Kings Team Store and ecommerce operations.
  • Lead initiatives to grow the Kings fanbase using technology and market trends.
  • Support community programming and youth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, ideally with a team, agency, or consumer brand.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating business objectives into creative briefs.
  • Experience managing multiple complex marketing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in data-driven decision-making and improving fan experiences.
  • Understanding of marketing technologies and user experience.

  • Experience in sports marketing or with a sports team.
