About the position

The Director of Marketing & Communications at Washington State University (WSU) College of Nursing is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communications efforts for the College's statewide programs. This role involves overseeing a range of communications tactics to ensure alignment with the College's priorities and mission, as well as managing a full-time Website Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic marketing and communications efforts for the College's statewide programs.
• Oversee the development and production of various communications tactics, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage a full-time Website Coordinator for the College.
• Develop and execute strategic marketing and communication plans and complex projects.
• Work with media and external organizations to enhance the College's visibility.
• Write and edit feature articles, brochures, annual reports, and speeches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a relevant field.
• Four years of professional experience in print or broadcast media, public relations, or related fields, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans.
• Successful experience working with media and external organizations.
• Experience writing/editing various communication materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Strong project management skills.
• Working knowledge of current marketing techniques and tools.
• Prior experience in a Healthcare or Nursing setting.
• Experience in a higher education environment, including creating marketing materials for college programs.
