About the position

The Marketing Insights Director at AbbVie is responsible for developing and executing an integrated insights plan that supports the strategic and tactical objectives of the franchise business. This role involves leading the insights function, ensuring effective communication of insights to marketing teams, and guiding the development of marketing strategies based on comprehensive market research and consumer behavior analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic plan development and tactical plan execution by ensuring that motivating insights are identified and executed by franchise teams.
  • Provide guidance to consumer marketing teams on understanding physician and patient behaviors regarding media consumption.
  • Lead insight creation for new product development opportunities from ideation to launch.
  • Understand market research design and interpret findings into actionable business insights.
  • Lead the market research team, ensuring access to and training in appropriate methodologies.
  • Apply strong verbal and visual communication skills to integrate insights from various resources.
  • Guide marketing and brand strategy through synthesized insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate and influence integrated brand team members and communicate with senior management.
  • Play a leadership role in advancing the insights function and direct team.
  • Identify and address opportunities and threats in the healthcare environment.
  • Champion relevant trends and develop action plans for senior management.
  • Increase productivity through effective use of external suppliers and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Psychology, Sociology, Life Science, or Market Research.
  • 10+ years of experience in customer insights, with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively with corporate functions and senior management.
  • Intimate knowledge of marketing and sales planning processes in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or Economics with a concentration in marketing/sales/market research.
