About the position

AutoZone's Director of In-House Creative Agency will build and lead a dynamic team responsible for crafting compelling brand experiences across various channels to deliver on Marketing-specific and company-wide objectives. This role is to inspire creativity, drive innovation, and ensure the seamless execution of fully integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives. They collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into impactful creative strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of creatives and production specialists to deliver high-quality work that meets brand standards and business objectives, delivering advertising materials, signage, packaging and sales collateral.
  • Develop and execute creative strategies that align with marketing goals and resonate with target audiences across various channels.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide creative direction, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the end-to-end creative process, from concept development and design to production and final delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and professional growth.
  • Manage external vendors and freelancers as needed to support project needs and ensure quality and consistency.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve creative processes and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Track and analyze the performance of creative campaigns and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and improvement.
  • Serve as a champion for the brand, ensuring all creative assets reflect the brand's values, messaging, and visual identity consistently.
  • Develop and enforce company-wide design standards and establish procedures for maintaining brand integrity and quality.
  • Act as a liaison between the creative team and other departments, fostering strong cross-functional relationships and communication channels.
  • Coordinate with departmental leadership teams to develop strategies and oversee processes that quickly move concepts from initiation through creative development to in-market execution.
  • Lead Category-Level Marketing, supporting Merch teams and key vendors on promotional or co-marketing activity across channels.
  • Partner with Commercial Marketing and Commercial Merchants to support their go-to-market plans to sell to shops.
  • Conceptualization and design of advertising, logos, packaging, in-store displays and collateral materials.
  • Operating cross-functionally with internal partners in technology, data and analytics, finance; in addition to the operational business units and global marketing teams.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate team members and leaders to ensure they are engaged and growing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in Marketing, Loyalty Strategy, CRM, Communications with some agency experience
  • 5+ years' experience managing people and vendors

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Communications, Advertising or Marketing
