About the position

The Director of Marketing at Simon Property Group is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with corporate objectives and enhance the financial performance of the shopping center. This role involves managing marketing budgets, fostering relationships with retail partners, and overseeing various marketing initiatives to drive sales and traffic to the property.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing plan that supports corporate marketing objectives and impacts financial goals.
  • Implement business development revenue opportunities including mall assets and media assets.
  • Develop and implement retailer intensification strategies to drive awareness and sales.
  • Promote platform program opportunities and foster relationships with key retail partners.
  • Implement corporate direction regarding national and regional brand marketing initiatives.
  • Create annual marketing budgets and allocate expenses to support programming and brand messaging.
  • Forecast and maximize marketing dollars by analyzing sales performance and ROI on marketing programs.
  • Manage data input and use of Salesforce for tourism and deal management.
  • Oversee tourism programs and coordinate visual merchandising and advertising programs.
  • Provide input on media plans and work with PR agencies to enhance property perception.
  • Drive growth and engagement of social media channels and manage Guest Services operations.
  • Oversee financial forecasting for the marketing department and participate in management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree with emphasis in sales, marketing, or business.
  • 4-6 years of experience in strategic marketing, event management, sales, sponsorship, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of retail management, marketing, and advertising.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Superior computer skills and ability to communicate effectively in various formats.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings.
  • Strong team building and coaching skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and think strategically.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing tourism programs.
  • Familiarity with media industry practices.
  • Experience in overseeing Guest Services operations.
