About the position

Siege Media is a growing and remote-first organic growth agency that has been nationally recognized on Inc.'s Best Workplaces list and the Inc. 5000 list, which highlights the 5000 fastest-growing private companies. We are currently seeking a talented Director of Marketing to join our team and help us continue delivering exceptional content for our world-class clients. This position is crucial for increasing qualified web traffic and generating sales-qualified leads for Siege Media. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B marketing, social media strategy, and SEO-driven content creation. In this role, you will serve as the final authority for business development content, ensuring quality and alignment with our strategic goals. You will manage and proactively source team utilization to create SEO-driven content for the Siege blog, aiming to grow sales-qualified leads. Additionally, you will oversee our social media strategy, creating engaging content across various platforms, including podcasts, email, LinkedIn, X, and Threads. This will involve a mix of managed content from the Siege Media team and your own thought leadership contributions. You will also be responsible for attending conventions, conferences, and trade shows, preparing necessary collateral, and providing post-event reports and analysis to enhance business development and networking opportunities. Managing a set business development budget will be essential to allocate resources effectively and scale the impact of the department. You will engage with blog business development partners and affiliates regularly to confirm performance and attribution, project manage team members to ensure timelines are met, and run monthly business development strategy meetings. Reporting and improving on business development metrics such as SQLs, traffic, organic traffic, and keyword rankings will be key responsibilities in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Increase qualified web traffic and sales qualified leads to Siege Media
  • Serve as the final say/QA for business development content
  • Manage and proactively source available team utilization to create SEO-driven content for the Siege blog
  • Manage social media strategy and create content for Siege Media across podcast platforms, email, LinkedIn, X and Threads
  • Attend conventions, conferences, and trade shows, preparing collateral as needed and providing post-event reports and analysis
  • Manage a set business development budget to allocate resources effectively
  • Engage blog business development partners/affiliates on a recurring basis via email to confirm performance and attribution
  • Project manage Siege Media team members to help them stay on timeline and hit publishing and quality goals
  • Run Siege Media's monthly business development strategy meeting
  • Report and improve on business development metrics monthly, such as SQLs, traffic, organic traffic, and keyword rankings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, or relevant experience
  • 5+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding annual marketing goals
  • 3+ years of social media strategy experience that generates measurable platform growth and target audience engagement
  • 2+ years of experience working at an agency, ideally in a marketing capacity or leading the marketing department
  • Experience and expertise in SEO and content marketing
  • Experience leading team meetings and maintaining agendas
  • Experience managing a marketing budget
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form productive working relationships in a remote setting
  • Ability to travel to conventions, networking events, and trade shows
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently

Nice-to-haves

  • Established personal brand in the areas of SEO/marketing/content marketing
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)
  • Deep experience in one of our three core verticals: fintech, SaaS, and ecommerce
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and comfortable uploading content to WordPress
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Proficiency in project management tools like Basecamp and Smartsheet
