About the position

Our client is entering their 9th decade in business and has been a very well respected player in their sector for much of that time. As a privately held company, they value highly collaborative working relationships in their team-oriented atmosphere. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves opportunity where a combination of strategic and tactical skills are necessary. The company's product releases have trended heavily in the direction of environmentally safer (greener) products over the past decade. The Director, Marketing will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive brand marketing strategy that enables the company to realize its business objectives. This role involves leading a small, high-powered team and providing leadership for launch activities of newly developed and enhanced existing formulations. The Director will also lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns and the creation of world-class marketing collateral and media content, while further developing the digital strategy to enhance the company's market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive brand marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  • Lead a small, high-powered marketing team.
  • Provide leadership for launch activities of newly developed and enhanced existing formulations.
  • Lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Create world-class marketing collateral and media content.
  • Further develop the company's digital marketing strategy.

Requirements

  • Extensive (10+ years) senior marketing leadership experience, preferably in agricultural chemicals or closely related fields.
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing marketing strategies to establish and expand commercial presence.
  • Experience in developing a new brand, rebranding, or leading a challenger brand to significant recognition while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a thought leader and strategist capable of accelerating brand growth.
  • Experience in EPA regulated chemical products sector, preferably in the agricultural chemicals industry.
  • Ability to be hands-on and change your own oil (roll up sleeves).
  • Diverse and broad-based integrated marketing experience across multiple disciplines including brand strategy, product marketing, digital, and communications.
  • Exposure to marketing through multiple channels including distributors and direct to government municipalities.
  • Proficient with campaign and content management tools.
  • Experience and understanding of regulatory nuances in the chemical products business.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey ideas and strategies to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the sales team to support marketing efforts.
  • Experience managing a marketing budget for optimal resource allocation.
  • Extensive experience with software tools such as Microsoft Office, Content Management platforms, Power BI, Canva, and Salesforce.
  • B.S. degree in marketing, communications, business, agribusiness, or related field.
